oh and a side note, the streak of going in with a stronger ace to be sucked out by a bigger stack with a weaker ace is up to 7 straight...tonight aj in the bb with 10 bbs...3x from the button, sb calls, i jam...sb jackass donkey calls with a4?????...and rivers a flush...i don't get how these idiots come up with ranges...some people just blow so bad that they beat me...

i started off really strong tonight...i decided since i'm gonna be multi tabling i'd run 5 dollar sngs...in those 4 tables here i placed 2 1sts, 1 second, and 1 bust jamming aq SS ran into aa in the cutoff...fired up 3 more after that...busted in every one.....my hands just never hold.....jj vs ak in one...one other bubble situation, i get q7 on the button and jam to a donkey who had just sucked out the very last hand...it was for almost half of his stack and he called with q10os...so stupid of him...i'm pretty sure that q7 is + ev for a jam there...only an idiot would call with q10 there..which he was...so it's right...really that hand might have put me on tilt for the remaining 2 games i had going...i mean really is q10 os in ANYONES calling range for almost half of there stack on the bubble?...

How Many Times?

how many times can i get in a favorite and get sucked out on?...my poker life has turned into such a joke...online players are so loose and so ignorant...the combination of that and the crap that happens to me online have turned me into a tilted mess...5 times straight i have gone in with a stronger ace only to get sucked out on...the latest was in the midnighter...i have 2000 in chips...bb has 4600...i have made NO plays...i got to this table 25 hands ago and haven't played a thing...i get aj in middle position...with 240 blinds, i open jammed...the donkey asshole in the bb cold calls with a10 os...flop 10 5 5 of course...this puts me now where i'm sitting here going over in my head, ok what the hell made this asshole call ME for half of his stack with a weak holding?...i have shown no reason to think that i could have a weak hand...none at all...and it always happens this way...people call me with weak aces all the time only to suckout on me...constantly...like EVERY OTHER TIME...being a 70 percent favorite to a flop means i should be winning almost 3/4's of the hands...instead i lose about 75 percent of the time...i don't understand it at all...i wish i had a program to insert my HH's and see how often i lose when i'm a huge favorite...

i watched a hand brandon played...he had 55 in the bb...a small stack jammed him and he called...the guy had a7...55 held up...i looked at it and i thought to myself that i can't even remember the last time that i got in with a pair against two overs that actually held up...whether it's qq vs ak, jj vs aq, 77 vs kq...they NEVER hold...and then when i'm on the other end, ak vs 10 10 or aq vs 44, it never hits...there is no justice on full tilt poker for me...at all...


on the upside, poker edge has me listed as a bomb now instead of a calling station...which means i'm playing tighter...i feel like i have been playing better...just getting raped...

ended up tonight but just barely...like 15 bucks or so...played well...multi tabled 4 at a time...it was suprisingly better than just playing one and getting tilted...one of them i lost kk vs jj, ak v jj in another...so that's standard...usually jj sucking out on me would piss me off but i held my composure much better having 3 other games going at the same time...

Reflections

alright so i've been trying to take everything in lately as far as sngs go...i used to be a winning player...it wasn't short term varience, it was fact...that i know...somewhere between M and ICM i lost my way...brandons been making me realize this lately...he's been saying to me " i'm trying not to learn anything new and just going with it"...my problem was that when i started winning, i didn't think i was good...i needed to learn more...it's taken me off my game...now i get into situations that used to be automatic to me and i analyze it till i make the wrong decision...when i was winning in sngs, i decided that i needed to extend my game to include a stronger mtt game...i learned and read and i think that i did a good job improving my mtts...but it started to take over my roll...i'd start playing only mtts and no sngs and i saw the results immediatly stop...so then i switched it up and started with the sngs again...only to find that the things that i've learned that helped me in mtts, were ruining my sngs...i'd constantly "put my eggs in one basket" always looking for a double up, not feeling the situations out the right way...

tonight i went onto sngplanet and theres an article about M in sngs and if it's useful...it's something i've been wondering for a while now...when i was a winning player, i would never use m as the deciding factors of my decision...i would use bb's...i think this is a big part of the problem for me...

i need to simplify my game...go back to what was making me win...playing tight and aggressive...i went to poker edge the other day and checked my new account and i am labled as a loose player...i couldn't even believe it...i play a tight game, usually 15 to 18 percent of hands played, how can i be considered a calling station?...but then i started to think about it...i push ALOT more hands than i used to...instead of letting things happen i am pushing too many hands...when i get my money in seriously, with a quality hand that's a favorite, i'll get sucked out on alot...but the other times, the times where i'll push hands that should be the favorite but aren't quality hands, i'll get called by a weaker hand and they will win because i didn't get in as strong as i should've...last week i had one night where i placed 6 out of 8...then i get up the next day and lose 5 straight and feel like i'm an idiot or playing bad...really the differences were that the first day i was staying super tight...playing only premiums...playing good poker...the next day, the first hand i get involved in, i had 66, i raised and got jammed early in a sng...i felt he had something like ak and decided to race him *which was retarded* and lost as he flipped up jacks...that decision single handedly set up a losing session for me.....even though after that i got in good 2 out of 4 as a favorite, i still felt like i was a moron and start analyzing...

that being said, i took last night off even though i was here at work...i played one 45 person sng and went out one before the final table...jammed 88 utg with a short stack but not the shortest in the tourny, and ran into jack in the CO...of course that reinstilled the fact that jamming utg, for the most part, is -ev...when i was pushing i said why are you jamming this....i had these thoughts last night and today so i was thinking i might play well tonight...i got into the midnighter...which is what i do when i think i'll play well...breaking my 10 dollar sngs to 1k...but it's still only a 10 dollar buy in so i hope it'll be worth the investment...i'm 60th out of like 700 left so it's still really early...

Hopefully Playing Better

well i skipped a few days...brandon reminded me tonight...it's been a rocky week...brandon is still killing sngs...at my best, when i started 20 dollar sngs a while ago, i was holding a 25 percent roi for about 150 games...he's gone through almost that many,75, and is holding at around 50 percent...so sick...

i took some bad beats, made some dumb plays, and was down a bit...i'm at about 315 right now and that's after placing 6 out of 8 last night...so you can guess how my week went...it's funny how you can get in to a sng that fits your style so well and then get in one where you have a bunch of donkeys fighting over every pot...those are the best because i get to trap them and then they get to suckout on me...


-non poker related: RIP Colin Mcrae...he was probably the best rally car driver ever...he did so much for that sport and he risked his life every day in those cars...then he gets taken by a stupid helicopter accident...so sad.....when a sport loses it's icon, it seems like it's always so much worse...you play their video games and watch them on tv and see them as invincible, but things like this bring you back to the ground and realize that life is so unpredictable...

10 dollar sngs to 1k

alright so brandon came up with a brilliant idea of playing ONLY 10 sngs till he has 1k in his bankroll...so i think i'll humor myself and do the same...he's been killing it lately...i remember when i used to just consistently cash sngs...now i don't even have faith in my own skills...i feel like i'm getting in good and then i question myself for the next 2 hours...so yeah sng time...i need this too i think


well 1 1st, 1 3rd 2 busts so far...playing my last two right now...play earlier in the night was better than it was later....

too early to tell if i'll run deep again in the midnighter...i have a good stack early...230 out of 1k left...i think last night i played too tight all around...i didn't play like i was last week...i decided i'd be more agg again tonight...


i'm an idiot...called a raise prf with ak...the player was semi tight but i could see him playing jj or qq...at the time i said i have to see a flop to decide...i should've just jammed pre...so flop came k108 2 clubs...i was out of position and jammed...he called with aq clubs...i dunno what i was thinking...i'm writing this so i remember never to do it again....



took some lame beats tonight...didn't win one race...88 v ak, aa v 66, a9 with flush and oestr8 draw v 96, a5h v a7 os with 2 hearts and an ace, ak v 33...i dunno it's humbling to play online poker...

sitting here with no t.v. at work...boring...played the midnighter and took a chance early with ak in the bb...folded to the button, he limped...the sb made a 3x i jammed and the BUTTON limped qq...didn't improve...i'm playing one 45 person 10 dollar sng...then i'm gonna just play sngs for the rest of the night...


taken to the cleaners......hands that stand out were aq v aj, ace on the flop i jam get called and he rivers a jack...last hand of the night, on the bubble, utg i raise 3x w/ a5, button calls he has about 600 more chips than me...flop comes 257 rainbow, i jam for about 8 bb's he calls with a2 and the turn is a 2 and the river is a 2...so sick...everytime i get some money i have a night where i'll take dumb beat after dumb beat to put me back down...shit's rigged...

Day 1

well i'm gonna try and be more serious about my play starting today...i feel i have learned alot from the forums and everything that i owe it to myself to start actually winning some money...hahaha...right now it's midnight so i'm running the nightly midnight madness tourny on full tilt...1607 people entered tonight...lately alot of people have been running this...i started running it about a year ago and on a busy night there would be like 950 people in it...now 2300 happens on a busy night...they usually stick a "pro" in there and you can see the numbers start to fly up...ITM is like 280 on avg...first place tonight is $2972...so far i doubled up kk through jj and 89 after a flop of 9 high...so i'm at about 3200 after about 14 hands...haha as i was typing i was dealt 10 10 utg...2 callers after a 3x raise and the flop was 9 high 2 clubs...i was first to act so i bet the pot...first guy calls, the next jams...his stack was about half of mine laying me 2 and change to 1...i called it and he was on the oestr8 draw...so i'm at about 4500 right now...60th out of 1200 left...


First break i've been pretty card dead...again as i'm typing this, hand right before the break...3 limpers i have 76 suited dimes on the button...flop comes 10 high 2 dimes...first to act was a big stack who was super agg...he bets 2/3 the pot and it folds to me...a hand before this he was against a player where he led out the same way and followed it by a pot sized bet on the turn...the player jammed him and he folded it...turn comes 7 but no dime...he leads the pot...i jam...he takes TIME all the way to 1 and calls...he had 10 8...and i sucked out the river...so i'm 79th out of 655...i was 270th before the hand...


Coming up on the second break soon...7 minutes...i'm in 8th right now out of 287...avg stack is 8k i'm right under 23k...i've been playing pretty solid...aggressive...used the rule of 10 to 1 for the first time 63 os in the bb...button small jammed me for about 2k...hit the 6 vs his a10 os


went out in 18th...98 dollars...had a10 off on the button...super agg of the table raised 3x, my m was 3 i jammed...he finally had it...ak...almost got a split out of it...that would've been nice...really just got onto an agg table and didn't have jack for cards...oh well makes me feel good to know i can run alright still...didn't get to play any sngs though, wanted to focus on one thing at a time...i'll prolly skip it tomorrow night and just play sngs...the emotional rollercoaster of an mtt puts a strain on my brain...having to work and deal with decisions in a game is hard on me...lol
